Will you marry me?
One of the first questions that I ask my couples is how did the proposal happen. It gives me an idea of who the couple is, what they find enjoyable, exciting and romantic, and dynamic of their relationship. The answer to this question has been from very simple to very romantic and well thought out.
Here are the top 10 dates to propose on:
New Year’s Day
Saturday before Christmas
Two Saturdays before Christmas
New Year’s Eve
The Friday before Christmas
Fourth of July
As a Colorado Wedding planner, I would add some additional days to this list. We have some very gorgeous places to propose and popular events that would be a fun place to do it.
Parade of Lights-which is usually takes place the first Friday and Saturday in December
Grand Illumination-when they light the City and County Building of Denver, Friday after Thanksgiving.
Now, those are the dates that I would add to the popular list. We also have some wonderful places in Colorado to do a proposal. Here are some suggestions:
Hudson Gardens Christmas
Chatfield Botanic Gardens
Denver Botanic Gardens -Blossoms of Light
Denver Zoo Lights
Ice Skating at Evergreen Lake House
Downtown Littleton during the Candlelight Walk
Downtown Golden during the Candlelight Walk
The additional things that you may want to consider is having a photographer, or videographer hidden in the crowd to capture the moment. Some of the above venues do require a photography permit, which is an additional cost. You may also want to invite your close friends and family to witness the event, which you may want someone like an event planner to coordinate them being part of the crowd and letting on to when it is happening too. Of course, you may want to arrange for a place to go to celebrate this special occasion.
If you need assistance in planning your proposal, please click on the contact button on the main page. I love planning proposals, because it is fun and romantic. I love seeing the reaction of their face when the question is popped.
Be romantic and do it in a way that will be remembered forever!
